I frequently receive the question, "How can I achieve the clearest version of my skin?" but without the hassle of a bathroom full of products and endless time spent there.

Well, it all starts from within, I say... and with excellent organizational skills :))). The clearest version of your skin is a natural consequence of first achieving the healthiest version of you. It's cause and effect, darling; it's all in the physics. By learning and applying the best skin care tips from Vedic wisdom, it becomes easier to experiment and discover what works for you and what doesn't, what's to keep and what's not, as a ROUTINE.

Inner beauty is not the easiest to attain because there's always more than what meets the eye; it starts long before you realize it. It's a constant state of care, attention, and devotion that you need to maintain throughout your day and life, no matter what happens. No excuses.

Inner beauty begins with a promise, a prioritization, a decision you live with. It’s not beauty from a pill or an ampoule. That's a quick decision and a temporary fix, yielding maximum results on the outside only. Inner beauty is a mindset, a decision to always choose the best for yourself: the best food, the best ingredients, the best water, the best company, the best sleep, the best pillow, the gym over the couch, self-discipline over comfort, self-comfort over a night out, and so on. It often comes down to a choice between what you want and what you truly need, or perhaps between the "smallest, most innocent bad" and the easiest way to get away at that moment.

Without further philosophical ado, let me introduce you to the power of self-awareness.

Self-awareness is what we need, to navigate life with intention and care—care for ourselves and care for our interactions with the world and our loved ones.

I know everyone is looking for the pill, the quick results, the easiest take, the fastest route, and the fastest results, however I've always been more interested in pursuing and understanding how to get the deep-seated, long-lasting results rather than some quick rewards.

In a world where people find comfort in illness and imbalance, due to the inconvenience of change itself, I'm here to say that unless you do the work, the self-work, change doesn't happen, and glow doesn’t just appear overnight thanks to genetics. You can apply alpha hydroxy acids, spend your money on any caviar creams you find on TikTok or those "Get Ready With Me" Vogue videos, but we all know it won't last for more than three hours. The majority, basically 99.9% of cosmetics out there, have water as their main ingredient. They're a mix of 90% water and 2% preservatives, leaving us with a maximum of 8% oily substances and actives, which are the ones that truly make a difference on your face. We spend thousands on brands, packaging, and the idea that someone we admire and aspire to be like, uses it. We buy into the concept of belonging and similarity.

Returning to the idea of long-lasting results, inner glow comes from both inner and outer work. As an Ayurvedic practitioner and lifestyle consultant, I know for a fact that the only way we can delay stress-induced aging (oxidative stress) and embrace aging gracefully and stylishly is by first changing our daily habits, eliminating the slow poison from our diets and minds, and adopting a few new ones that can cope with everyday life stress.

Sure, a few creams will help, maybe a Gua Sha, some face massage, and certainly the holy grail of abhyanga -"oil," which has several benefits for our skin. It is the most unctuous substance available, its role being to keep the air outside off our body. Of course, that happens through the skin, which is the largest penetrating organ, also a digestive one.

Many estheticians claim that we shouldn't put oil on our face because of pore-clogging concerns and its inability to be fully absorbed. However, 5000-year-old Ayurvedic medicine says, "it depends." It depends on your skin type and the type of oil.

Of course, they say that. Their interest is in having you visit them, buy their creams, and opt for the inevitable "non-invasive injection". "The non-invasive esthetic industry" has been so normalized and "non-invasive" :)) that you can no longer differentiate a well-rested woman from a tired one. You can't even look tired; there's botox for that. It's as if we can't afford not to have it right now. But how can you "non-invasively botox your mind"? I mean, how can you even change the habits that brought you in that state if you refuse to see the effect it had over you? Having a well-balanced mind is crucial for achieving optimal body and skin well-being, as mental and physical health are intricately interconnected. Stress, anxiety, and negative emotions can lead to various physical manifestations, including skin issues like acne, eczema, and premature aging.

When the mind is in harmony, it promotes better lifestyle choices such as nutritious eating, regular exercise, and adequate hydration—all essential for healthy skin and overall physical health. Furthermore, a balanced mind enhances one’s ability to engage in self-care practices and maintain a consistent skincare routine.

By fostering mental clarity and emotional stability, individuals can significantly improve their physical appearance and overall health, highlighting the holistic nature of wellness. I am sure that living with today's evolutionary perks has its ups and downs, and botox is certainly not the worst thing out there, but what I'm suggesting is that maybe we could recover some steps before we end up with the inevitable.
